Rate of suicide and suicide attempts increases tremendously during adolescence.
These suicide attempts start at the age of 15-24 years old according to the Center for Disease Control and prevention (CDC). These suicide attempts increase when kids and teens have access to firearms at home; maybe one of the Parents is a Police officer. There is also a method that teens find easy to do which is overdosing with medicine or cutting themselves.
On an article that is written on Kids Heath about teen suicide it is clearly stated there that suicide rates differ between boys and girls. Girls think about it and attempt suicide about twice as often as boys, and tend to attempt suicide by overdosing on drugs or cutting themselves. Yet boys die by suicide about four times as often girls.
Girls give it all when it comes to relationships, as we all know that guys have a gift of knowing how to sweet talk a girl into saying yes to a relationships even though sometimes they know they are not in this for real, or for keeps. we fall deeply in love and not think of the what ifs.
Parents may find it hard to accept the fact that we as young adults do things we get involved in those things that we are clearly told to run away from. The only way the parents can try to fight this is by putting your teen down talking with it in a non judgmental way because at the end of the day it is your son or daughter life that is in jeopardy, try to be open minded and put yourself in the teens shoes. You were once a teen and went through the same stages; you once did not listen and felt alone, felt like no one understands you and where you are coming from. Talking can cure and help prevent teen suicide
